Born from a desire to connect the Earth’s most primal elements with the eternal beauty of the Cosmos, each vessel becomes a “miniature planet” shaped after celestial bodies. They embody the pure curves of nature and life itself – spherical forms that have long stood as timeless symbols of wholeness, continuity, and connection, echoing the cyclical rhythms of beginnings and endings repeated across the ages.
This collection celebrates the ancient Pit Fire ceramic technique – the oldest known method of firing clay on Earth. By placing raw ceramic pieces into a deep pit in the ground, surrounded by combustible organic materials such as dry leaves, wood dust, and scrap metal, the fire is gradually ignited, allowing flames, ash, and smoke to freely paint the surface of the clay. Pit Firing relies on the unpredictable and spontaneous interaction between earth, fire, minerals, organic matter, smoke, and the skillful hand of the ceramist. This renders each piece utterly unique, unforeseeable and impossible to replicate.

Pit Fire Cosmos creates its own unique ‘mineral maps’, revealing the scientific beauty of chaos in order. Random color streaks, curling smoke trails, charcoal-like marks, and the one-of-a-kind surface effects of the clay form the very soul of each art piece. No two works are alike; every vessel is a painting sketched by wind and fire, bearing the traces of an ‘underground journey’ and telling the story of the encounter between flame, earth, and the artist’s hand.
